Day 24

The bus leaves the campus at 7am sharp. Thus all of us have to wake up early to prepare ourselves for this two day one night trip to the Wudang Shan. Before the trip we were told to travel light as we will have to bring our bags with us and also the fact that there will be lesser free time for us as compare to the three gorges cruise trip. The journey to the foot of the Wudang Shan was longer than our previous tour. It took us nearly five hours to reach the foot of Wudang Mountain. We had our dinner at the local restaurant there. The food wasn’t wonderful but was good enough to fill our stomach. After that, we took our belonging with us and proceed to take the Wudang mountain tour bus. Our first attraction for the day is Tai Zi Po. The structure of the building is very old and it amazes me how it is still able to stand even after so many hundreds or thousands of years. Our next destination is … After that, we proceed to the hotel that we will be staying in. The room was simply fantastic and it really surprises me a lot as we were told not to expect too much from the hotel here. After putting all our belonging in our respective room, we went to the third destination before we go to the …for our dinner. After the dinner, all of us were given free time. However, most of us went to sleep early as we have to wake up early the next day.

My Reflection

From this Wudang Shan trip, I had learned a lot about Chinese culture and Taoism, especially their utmost respect to their Heavenly Gods and Spirits. That was because at Wudang Shan, it was filled with temples and many people came all the way there to offer their respect. Their beliefs were witnessed by many joss sticks, incense papers, candles and goodies such as sweets or fruits. Therefore, I believe that from this, I can conclude that Chinese are really enthusiastic regarding the alternative worlds and the mighty gods whom lived within which are worthy of our respect to them.
