Day 2

Woke up early due to the noise of honking by cars outside the street in the morning. The cold weather combine with the rain and the strong wind make me feel unbearable despite the fact that I worn 5 layers of clothes. We had to walk from our hostel to the classroom block under the rain, which really make me appreciate the shelters in our school, saving us the need of bringing an umbrella. We assembled and went to our classroom. Fortunately, the classroom have heat generator to keep us warm in the class. After that, we went to one of the canteen there for our lunch. I bought a bowl of noodles which cost only 2.5RMB which is about 50 cents in Singapore!

We went to Jian Er Shang Chang and walk around there during the free time given to us. After which we met up with the Wuhan students and had dinner at a restaurant near the school. The food in cuisines in Wuhan taste different as compare to Singapore as they are spicier. Their foods are also oilier than those in Singapore. During the dinner, it makes me understand the culture difference between the two countries. For examples, the people here will only consume rice after they finished the main dishes and also they do not drink tea while eating as they think it is not good for them.

We went to a shopping mall after that by taxi. The students brought us to play bumper cars at the arcade. After which we explore around the arcade. One thing that I amaze me was that the shopping mall here closes at 9.30pm and they will turn off their light at that time.

My Reflection

The traffic here in Wuhan is kind of chaotic. In Singapore, when we were crossing zebra crossing, we do not have to worry about our safety as we know that the drivers will definitely stop to allow them to cross. It is different here as the drivers do not even stop! Thus we have to be extremely careful while crossing the roads. The cars come from all directions; hence we have to be alert when we are crossing. This makes me glad of the traffic in Singapore as the safety of the pedestrian come first.
