Day 8

We did Activity-on-Arc (AOA) assignments and also practical during our project management lesson. As Miss Neo do not want to teach us too much things as we might not be able to absorb add to the fact that quite a number of people are sick, we ended at 12pm. Went to another local restaurant, Pala Burger, near the campus for lunch. Out of curiosity, found out that this restaurant is opened by a 24year old china man. Took the private van to the Jiang Han Lu Bu Xing Jie for 40RMB, as there are 9 of us, it is not value for money to take cab. Shopped around that area and some of them had Macdonald for dinner. We originally intend to take the same private van back to the hostel but in the end the driver is unable to make it. Thus we decided to take the public bus. It was a quite a long and unpleasant ride as a lot of people are squeezed together.

My reflection

For a developing country like China, it is naturally to sight uncultured civilians around the country. I doesn't have to spot, but just simply by walking and looking around, I was able to understand how uneducated the people. One example was the awful bus ride from Jiang Han Lu Bu Xin Jie back to our hostel. The Chinese were pushing and rushing one another to be able to board the bus as fast as they could. That rashful act was done despite the bus was still moving and such a dangerous scene appeared to be a norm for all the passerbys on the streets. The words that I heard from all these screaming and shouting from these China people were just heading for one particular goal; which was to get up to the bus as fast as they could BY ALL MEANS. Hence, even if these behaviors were part of their everyday life, it will definitely reflects an extremely bad impression to foreigners like me who witnessed all of these rough and violent actions that people had to undertake and suffer just to simply, board a bus. In Singapore, if we are unable to board the bus, the people will just wait for another bus, unlike in Wuhan. I used to think that Singaporeans are not gracious enough to give up their seats for the elderly or pregnant women, but if I were to compare the graciousness level with Wuhan which I am living right now, I can only shake my head and say that the public transports are not even fit to provide for people like senior citizens or handicapped.
