Day 36

As our module had ended, we do not have any lesson and thus the only thing left to do is to shopped around for things that we wanted to buy back to Singapore etc. I woke up very late as we are drain of energy after our trip the day before and as nothing is planned for the day. We decided to head to Jiang Han Lu at around 2 plus. We went to the bank of china as some of us wanted to change or withdraw Ren Ming Bi as most of us had ran out of cash to use. The changing of currency took some time as there are a few documents needed. After that they decided to go to汉正. Upon reaching, me, daryl and ron walked around and eventually make our way back to Jiang Han Lu as we did not see much things to buy there. We saw other Ngee Ann Polytechnic people while shopping around too. We took a cab back to our campus at around 9plus.

My Reflection

While Me and several of my clique mates were exchanging currency at the bank, we were met by an unpleasant incident which makes my heart feel withdrawn about going back the second time ever again. The exact happening was that even when we were already stepping and stepped inside and into the bank premises itself, there were many aggressive other money changers who were extremely competitive and forcing us to exchange our foreign money with them instead. However since me and my classmates thought that exchanging with a local bank is much more safer in any possible cases of a fake or counterfeit RMB notes so as to protect ourselves and keeping our best in staying clear of any troubles that might occur. Not to forget, all these money changers were illegal and many do not have their own store itself to uphold a legalised money changing business. Some even went all the way into the bank itself and kept shoving us calculators of their exchange rates, at the same time repeating phrases that their rates are much higher than the bank itself. It was only after those money changers themselves who realize they saw no more business opportunity with us anymore that they backed away on their own.
